Liam Conlon, MP for Beckenham and Penge has started a petition to save West Wickham Post Office.
TG Jones – formerly WH Smiths – which houses the Post Office is closing on 19 October. Liam has said “I am really concerned that this means the Post Office inside the store will also close.”
It doesn’t say whether he has spoken to the Post Office to find out, but hopefully that will happen at some point soon.
He continues: “For many local residents, particularly older people, the Post Office is an essential part of everyday life – from collecting pensions and paying bills to accessing basic postal services. Local small businesses also rely on it.
“Closing the branch would mean residents having to travel further to access services they currently use locally, creating unnecessary inconvenience for our community.”
