St Christopher’s hospice offer world class palliative and end of life care to everyone who needs it. Next weekend there are two local events raising money for this brilliant cause.
Charity Day at The Railway
The Railway in West Wickham is hosting a charity day in aid of St Christopher’s Hospice on Saturday, 29th August, running from 10am until late at their venue on Red Lodge Road, BR4 0EW.
The event promises a full lineup of activities for all ages, featuring a bottomless brunch to kick off the day, followed by a kids’ disco and games, a tombola, craft stalls, and live music with a DJ into the evening.
Open Gardens in Bromley
There are open gardens around Bromley throughout September, but next weekend’s garden is in keeping with the railway theme.
“Featuring an enchanting G scale American garden railway including a circus and fire train and a small line where visitors of all ages can have a go at driving a train!
Visit the fascinating vintage telephone museum with a collection of old phones dating back to the early 1900s, switchboards and working telephone exchanges and even a full-size phone box. Connect calls, listen to the speaking clock and reminisce with “Dial-A-Disc”.
