Local emergency roadworks

The councillors have let us know about some emergency roadworks. Don’t forget there are also local roadworks on Gates Green Road this week.

Westmoreland Road, Bromley – Emergency Thames Water Works

Thames Water closed Westmoreland Road, Bromley on Sunday 9 August while they made emergency works to a burst water main. The road is fully closed at the junction of Broadoaks Way, with local signed diversions in place for motorists.

Thames Water have now repaired the water leak and The Council have requested for priority reinstatement. The road is expected to remain closed until the end of the week currently, Friday 14 August.

Queen Anne Avenue, Shortlands – Emergency Thames Water Works

Thames Water’s emergency repair works are still ongoing at Queen Anne Avenue, Shortlands and the road remains closed at the junction of Durham Road.

The road is expected to currently remain closed until Friday 14 August but the end date may be extended. Local signed diversions are in place for motorists.

Hayes Lane & Mead Way, Hayes – Planned SGN Works

SGN closed Hayes Lane, Hayes at the junction with Mead Way over the weekend for gas main replacement work. These works started prior to the emergency road closure at Westmoreland Road.

Hayes Lane and Mead Way will remain closed until Friday 21 August.

During the closure period:

  • There will be no access to Hayes Lane from Mead Way for vehicles
  • Vehicle access to Bromley FC and properties up to the Mead Way roundabout on the Hayes Road side of the closure will only have access maintained via the Bromley Common / Masons Hill end of Hayes Lane
  • Vehicle access to properties up to the Mead Way roundabout on the Hayes Street side of the road closure will only have access via the Hayes Street / Pickhurst Lane end of Hayes Lane
  • Vehicle access to the Norman Park entrance on Hayes Lane will only be available via the Hayes Street / Pickhurst Lane end of Hayes Lane
  • The Norman Park entrance will be managed under temporary two way signals as the access in/out of Norman Park will be down to a single traffic lane
  • Pedestrian access through the closure area will be maintained at all times.
  • Letchworth Drive will remain closed to traffic at the junction of Hayes Lane.
