Commenting on Hayes Farm planning application

The deadline for residents to comment on the proposal to build 2,200 homes around Hayes Farm is now 14 August 2026.

The deadline was extended several times, although there was confusion about what the council said on email compared to the information on their website.

As you may know, Berkeley Homes are planning to build more than 2,000 new homes on green belt land around Hayes Farm. Their application is open for members of the public to submit comments for and against the development.

Respond to the application to make your feelings known

We know there have been several petitions and surveys about the development. Lots of people are also talking about this on social media. While those can feel like useful ways to have your say, your comments must be submitted through the official planning website to be recorded as part of this process.

What to know before you respond

These are some useful things to read before you submit your response to ensure your comment is effective:

Note: the CPRE guidance is part of a much longer document.
