Addington Road Surgery is holding an event at West Wickham Library on Friday 17 July between 9:30am and midday. A doctor and a nurse from the surgery will be there to answer your questions about the about the MMRV vaccinations.
The MMRV vaccine helps protect children against measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox (varicella). It’s usually given to children when they are 12 months and 18 months old. Some older children are also offered it too.
But you may know that the take up of the MMRV vaccination has decreased in the last few years. Myths and legends have spread via social media and word of mouth. Vaccinating a child is always a parents’ decision – but like all important decisions, it’s best made with the right knowledge and information.
If you know parents who are worried about childhood vaccinations, do encourage them to pop along and ask questions or just pick up a leaflet. When it comes to your child’s heath, there are no silly questions. The doctor and nurse will explain everything you need to know, so you can make the choice that’s right for you and your child.
