As you may know, Berkeley Homes are planning to build more than 2,000 new homes on green belt land around Hayes Farm. Their application has now been validated and is open for members of the public to submit comments for and against the development.
Respond to the application to make your feelings known
We know there have been several petitions and surveys about the development. Lots of people are also talking about this on social media. While those can feel like useful ways to have your say, your comments must be submitted through the official planning website to be recorded as part of this process.
What to know before you respond
These are some useful things to read before you submit your response to ensure your comment is effective:
- CPRE (Campaign to Protect Rural England) guide to responding to planning applications effectively.
- Bromley Council’s guide to viewing and commenting on planning applications
Note: the CPRE guidance is part of a much longer document.
Access the application to respond
Members of the public can add their comments on the Council’s planning portal: Planning Application: 26/02199/OUT
Or you can email planning@bromley.gov.uk, quoting the planning reference:

The deadline for comments is 10 July 2026
