On Thursday 18 June at 7am, local resident Jo is hosting a 24-hour live concert at St John’s Church on Layhams Road – and she won’t be stopping until 7am on Friday 19 June. Everyone is welcome.
Jo is raising funds for Child Rescue Nepal and will be joined by live musicians performing in person and remotely from around the country. The whole event will be streamed live on YouTube too.
This is definitely a concert with something for everyone! From a classical music kick off to school assembly bangers (11am), love songs (2pm) to singalongs (7pm and 9pm). There’ll be piano and guitar (10am), a double bass (3pm), a drumming session where you can join in (6pm), and so much more. You know what – it’s easier to look at the lineup (click it to zoom in).
A generous donor has pledged to match every pound raised up to £5,000 – meaning the concert could raise £10,000 for the children of Nepal. As I type, Jo is so close to her goal – she’s raised over £4,000 so far. Can you help her make it to £5,000? It looks like it should be a fun day (and night!).
Jo says: Child Rescue Nepal frees children from slavery. We rescue children, keep them safe and reunite them with their families. Child Rescue Nepal has rescued over 1,000 children but our work is far from over. We want to end child slavery in Nepal and we won’t stop until every child is free.
