As you may know, a proposal is being prepared by Berkeley Homes to develop land around Hayes Farm. The proposal is for over 2,000 new homes to be built on greenbelt land. The idea is that these homes will help Bromley meet its missed housing targets and provide much needed housing for the borough.
This application is now being validated to check that the reports and necessary documents have been provided. Once this process is complete, the application will be available for members of the public to make their comments. If you have strong opinions for or against the proposal, commenting on the official application is the best way to make your opinions known.
Local MP Peter Fortune is against any development of greenbelt land. He is asking members of the public for their feedback so he can better gauge public opinion ahead of the official planning application:
“I need as many local people as possible to share their views on the proposals for development at Hayes Farm so that I can demonstrate the local strength of feeling on this issue.“

Much like the questions Berkeley Homes asked ahead of their public consultation, these questions are somewhat leading. However, there are free-text boxes where you can enter your own views – regardless of your politics – and share whether you are for or against the proposal.
