Now the weather is getting better, it’s a good time to get outside and enjoy the sunshine – and that’s often much nicer with company. So why not join a free, friendly, Guided Woodland Walk? Each walk starts and finishes at The Railway Hotel pub, Red Lodge Road, West Wickham, which offers the walkers free coffee and tea afterwards.
The walks are open to:
- Anyone aged 60 and over
- Family caregivers (any age, due to any condition, with or without the person they care for)
- Bereaved carers (any age, due to any condition)
- People living with dementia
Starting in West Wickham, the group will make its way into the local woodland and fields. The pace and route will be adapted to the group each time – and there are trekking poles available for anyone who needs them.
Walks every other Wednesday and Saturday
The walks happen regularly:
- meet for the Wednesday afternoon walks at 2pm for a 2.20pm start.
- meet for the Saturday morning walks at 11am for an 11.20am start.
The next walk is on Wednesday 22 April, and after that on Saturday 25 April, and so on.
More information on their website
Their website, written by their very friendly founder Esther, has lots of answers to any questions you may have, and the dates of every upcoming walk. If you know someone who may benefit, pass it on.

You are welcome to sign up and get more information in advance. Just visit the website or email: info@symbiosia.org.uk
But, Esther says that those preferring to show up on the day are equally very welcome.
