In memory of Dr Judy John

On Sunday 22 February, members of Dr Judy John’s family joined EACH in the community orchard to plant a native Greengage tree in her honour. Judy sadly died in June last year.

Dr Judy John was a trained botanist who led the Bromley Biodiversity Partnership. She was a supportive consultant to all the Bromley Friends groups and in 2024, was recognised by the Mayor of Bromley for her extensive contributions to Bromley’s biodiversity.

Sarah Chant, founder of EACH said, “Judy was a terrific advocate for increasing biodiversity and she was so supportive of our work. She is being honoured in parks and green spaces all over Bromley and she will be sorely missed.”

At the Open Gardens event last year, EACH raised funds in Dr John’s honour, which were donated to local hedgehog rescue charities.

To see the tree, and connect with members of EACH and each other, join the orchard Wassail, this coming weekend.
