Rider of stolen moped in park has been charged

In an email from Met Engage (the community crime fighting team), they report that officers from the Hayes and Coney Hall team “spotted a moped with no number plate being ridden on Coney Hall Recreation Ground. The rider was stopped and [officers] subsequently found that the moped had been reported stolen. The rider was arrested and charged in relation to the stolen bike and traffic offences and the moped has been returned to its rightful owner.”

It’s encouraging to hear that they are looking out for the area and acting on reports they receive. Please do report anything suspicious, or dangerous that you see in the park. These are the different ways you can make a report:

  • via the online reporting tools or live chat at www.met.police.uk
  • call the non-emergency number 101
  • stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org

And of course, in an emergency, always call 999. Let’s help keep the park safe for everyone.
