Thames Water is currently working on Chestnut Avenue and the road is closed. Work is expected to finish on 24 November. While the work is being carried out, the 138 bus is being diverted along Queenway to stand on Princes way. Busses will not travel along Layhams Road or Birch Tree Avenue.
They are replacing multiple lead pipes, which are no longer safe to use. This means they need to dig up the road, and in some places, the pavement.
