In an email from Met Engage (the community crime fighting team), they report that officers from the Hayes and Coney Hall team “have been conducting proactive speeding operations to tackle vehicle misuse and promote safer driving in the area.” They’re not specific about which streets exactly, but it’s definitely a start. A few years ago, Police Officers at a CHVRA Open Meeting suggested that this wasn’t something they were able to do.
They continue: “Activities such as street racing, cruising or performing tricks can count as anti-social behaviour. If you are concerned about this in your area, visit our website for the latest guidance and how you can report this. You can also report dangerous driving in your area.”
We know that dangerous driving can be an issue in Coney Hall, so we thought it was worth sharing these links. Please do report things like this – just like antisocial behaviour in the rec, if it’s not reported, then no resources will be allocated to fixing it. (Even the Police can’t fix something if they don’t know about it).
Met Engage is a 2-way platform to allow the community and the police to share information and updates more freely. It enables members of the public to sign up and choose what kind of information they want from the police, see what events are happening in their area or to contact the police with useful intelligence.
