It’s been quite a while since we were told that the yellow lines to prevent dangerous parking on Layhams Road were ‘coming soon’. Various delays and staff departures at the council have meant that during the height of the summer, and through busy sporting weekends, it’s been difficult and occasionally unsafe for cars to pass on the blind bend.
The latest news from the councillors states that:
“The Council’s traffic team have advised that the legal instrument to install permanent changes, the TMO, is currently with the Council’s legal team for sign-off. They expect the TMO to be signed by November 5th, by which point the TMO will be provided to the Highways Department to install the lines.”
So it’s hard to say for sure when this work will be completed. Advice from the councillors is that should you have any concerns about cars parked dangerously on that section of road, you can log the incident, and the team will quickly respond.
