Autumn Fair – Saturday 11 October

This year’s Autumn Fair will take place in St Francis Church Hall (just off the High Street). Organised by St John’s in support of Link to Hope’s Shoebox Appeal, there’ll be tasty treats, jewellery & accessories, crafts, gifts and more.
The Proper Blokes Club: ‘Walk & Talk’ group – Sunday 12 October (and every Sunday)
9am-10am, Meet at entrance to Norman Park Community Sports Centre
The Proper Blokes Club is a community project for men’s mental health. The main aim is to break the stigma of men’s mental health and start talking openly about it. Join the lads for a leisurely and scenic walk and talk starting at the community centre in Norman Park.

Knit & Crochet Group – Monday 13 October
12pm-2pm, The Hub from Cleaner & Greener, The Glades (Upper Mall Next to Waterstones)
Join Greener & Cleaner for a gathering of knitting and crocheting enthusiasts at The Hub, located in The Glades, Bromley. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced crafter, this event provides the perfect opportunity to share tips, swap patterns, and connect with fellow yarn lovers. They have many experienced people in the group who are willing to share their skills.

Sharing Joy – Tuesday 14 October
11am and 2pm, Wickham Theatre Centre/Theatre 62
Wickham Theatre Centre will open its doors to for a very special show.
Sharing Joy by Vamos Theatre is a vibrant, interactive show for people living with dementia, learning disabilities, and other neurological conditions.
Set in the lively 1940s–50s, the show is packed with music, dance, puppetry, and laughter, encouraging everyone to take part, connect, and feel included.
The show will last one hour, with the chance for a Q&A after the show, and also tea and biscuits for attendees. This is all included in the price. Booking is essential.

Sewing Circle Community Event – Tuesday 14 October
10am – 12pm, West Wickham Library, Glebe Way, West Wickham, BR4 0SH
People of all sewing disciplines and all levels of expertise are invited to come together to form a sewing community and share skills and experience with each other. Mending skills and upcycling are encouraged, plus skill sharing of various traditional skills like embroidery, quilting, tapestry, cross stitch etc.

If you’re not sure how to use the NHS app, and you’d prefer to talk through it in person, drop in to the NHS App Awareness Day. Get free, walk-in support from healthcare professionals – no appointment needed.
Disability Pride 2025 – Saturday 18 October
1pm – 3.30pm, Bromley United Reformed Church, 20 Widmore Road, BR1 1RY
Disability Pride showcases Disabled talent, such as comedy, music, and dance, encouraging Disabled people to express their identity positively, develop collective pride, and help break down stigma around disability. Performers include Remix Theatre Arts, Magpie Dance, Duncan Devine, Age UK Memory Singers, Abbott Movement, Kayley Jeffreys and other individuals performing poetry and signing – all with lived experience of Disability. They will also have an art display from artists from the Bethlem Hospital Art group.
