Two local heroes recognised at civic ceremony

Volunteers were applauded at a reception hosted by Councillor Jonathan Andrews, Mayor of Bromley, last week. Contributions from many organisations were recognised for their service to local communities – and two of Coney Hall’s most active volunteers were among those who received recognition.

Ahead of the event, our Councillors were asked to nominate a volunteer each from the communities they represent. This year, Thomas Turrell nominated Alison Regester, for her work as Chair of Friends of Coney Hall Park and Alexa Michael nominated Dennis Moor, former President and Chair of CHVRA. (Alison and Dennis can be seen to the left and right of the Mayor respectively.)

The councillors said, “The community spirit, embodied by these incredible volunteers, is something that makes our borough such a fantastic place to live. It was a wonderful evening hearing about the amazing work being done across the borough and celebrating those who make it happen.”

Huge congratulations to everyone – but of course, especially to Alison and Dennis!

We pinched the photo from the Councillor’s Facebook page – we hope they don’t mind. From left to right, the photo shows: Councillor Alexa Michael, award-winner Alison Regester, the Mayor of Bromley, award-winner Dennis Moor, the Deputy Mayor of Bromley, Councillor Thomas Turrell AM.
