Update from the latest Ward Panel meeting

If you haven’t heard of them before, Ward Panels are made up of local residents, partner agencies and councillors. They meet regularly with representatives of the Safer Neighbourhood Team, or SNT. The SNT is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community.

Together, the panel works with the SNT to discuss issues of concern and share local intelligence. In particular, our Ward Panel:

  • Suggests the priorities of the Safer Neighbourhoods Team.
  • Acts as community representatives identifying issues of local concern which create fear of crime or affect the quality of life in an area.
  • Assists the police and the community with engagement and information flow.
  • Assists with problem-solving and crime prevention activity.

They feed information and emerging issues directly to local police officers, helping to shape and deliver local priorities.

The last Ward Panel meeting was on 5 June. Attendees included members of the police team, local councillors and representatives of the communities of Coney Hall, Hayes and Keston. Here is the outcome of their discussion.

Crime figures have reduced

The total number of offences on the ward during the past 12 months was 653. That is 61 fewer than the previous 12 months.
