What a weekend! Yesterday was the very successful Gardens for Wildlife Open Day. Organised by EACH, local residents opened their gardens to show us how they’re creating a haven for wildlife – and it was wonderful! Sunshine, smiling faces, generous hosts, and gardens to inspire, like the one in the photo above (so many daisies!). We’ll share more photos over the next week or so.
If you joined the Open Day, then you may have missed the opportunity to go for a cream tea, but, there’s still time: Amber CPC are raising money by serving traditional cream teas today too, overlooking the Coney Hall Valley. Here are the details:
Situated on Three Commons Circular Walk, the London Loop and near the Nash Circular Walk
2pm to 5pm
Traditional cream tea, including homemade scone or cake with tea/coffee (free refills)
Donation:£8
How to get there
The entrance is from the western footpath on West Wickham Common at the Hartfield Crescent/Croydon Road junction. Look out for the signs and friendly faces who will direct you to the right place.
If it’s easier to drive, there’s a public car park: enter from Croydon Road next to Hartfield Crescent, or park in Hartfield Crescent. You’ll see the signs there too.
