Today’s the day! It’s the Coney Hall Gardens for Wildlife Open Day, from 2pm to 5pm.
Take a tour around participating gardens in Coney Hall and get ideas about how you can turn your own garden into a more welcoming place for wildlife. Tickets are just £5 each (cash only!). Your ticket includes a drink at Rouse Farm, a tour of the farm and an opportunity to meet a hedgehog or two. Under 16s go free with an adult.
There’s also a plant and cake sale, and all proceeds from the day go to our local hedgehog rescue and rehabilitation charity. For tickets and information visit the participating houses – they all have signs outside.
The event has been organised by Environmental Action Coney Hall, or ‘EACH’, for short. Since 2019, EACH has been working hard to make Coney Hall a pollinator village, by creating wildlife corridors and encouraging residents to protect and promote biodiversity.
Members of EACH range from 13 to 80 years old. In Coney Hall park, their community orchard and butterfly banks are thriving. They also work with Well Wood volunteers and Friends of the Park.
