They’ve said: “The multi-million-pound refurbishment of the library has created a host of new facilities for residents with a modern café, business lounge and an expanded children’s library with outdoor space amongst the highlights contained within the attractive new exterior.”

Special day of activities planned

The Mayor will officially open the library at 11am on Friday 27 June. To celebrate, a special day of activities is planned, from 11:30am to 5pm. The plans include craft workshops, art activities and a children’s session with local author Peter Bently.

An award-winning library + 26 new affordable homes

The Building London Planning Awards have already selected the library as a finalist for ‘Best Retrofit Project’ ahead of its reopening. The refurbishment was delivered alongside 26 new affordable homes which will be completed later this year.
