Upcoming roadworks for Thames Water main replacement

The councillors have let us know about upcoming roadworks. It sounds like these are going to be in place for a lot longer than usual, so it’s worth having a quick read to find out more. Here’s what they’ve said…

Thames Water will be starting water main replacement work at Leaves Green Road / Main Road, Biggin Hill from Tuesday 27 May.

The works will begin at the Leaves Green Road / Downe Road / Westerham Road roundabout and will continue to the Main Road / Churchill Way roundabout. Thames Water have said that the works will be in place for up to 28 months and will be managed under temporary traffic signals for the majority of the project.

Thames Water will be working six days a week (Monday to Saturday) and will be manually operating the temporary signals during peak times on weekdays.

Blackness Lane will be closed at the junction of Church Road / Jackass Lane from Tuesday 27 May for the first few phases of the works. Thames Water will be sending letters to the residents immediately affected by the Blackness Lane road closure with more information.

Thames Water have advised that the first phase of works (at the Leaves Green Road / Downe Road / Westerham Road roundabout) is likely to be in place for up to five weeks. Once the first phase of works has been completed the multi phased temporary signals will change to two way / phased signals.
