As you may have seen in the latest issue of the CHVRA newsletter, the committee’s hard work has finally paid off. The blue plaque to commemorate local resident Elsy Borders has been installed in Coney Hall. What’s more, you’re invited to the official unveiling at 81 Kingsway, on Saturday 12th April, at 3pm.
Elsy Borders was a pioneer, campaigning for change through the mortgage strike of 1938. She made national and international news – and more recently was celebrated in the BBC Radio documentary: A House Called Insanity.
To find out more, do join us for the official unveiling of the plaque. We’d love to see you there.
