Weekend garden waste disposal sites open now

Now we’ve got some better weather, it’s probably time to start gardening again. Just so you know, Bromley’s garden waste disposal sites are now in operation at the weekends. They’ll be open every weekend during the gardening season from March through to the end of October.

These are the sites you can access:

  • Bromley: Norman Park, Hook Farm Road (off Bromley Common)
    Saturdays 11am to 4pm, open til 25 October 2025.
  • St Paul’s Cray: Cotmandene Crescent car park (off Chipperfield Road)
    Saturdays 11am to 4pm, open til 25 October 2025.
  • Biggin Hill: Charles Darwin School, Jail Lane
Sundays 8am to 12 noon, open til 26 October 2025.
  • Beckenham: Unicorn Primary School car park, Creswell Drive (off South Eden Park Road)
Sundays 8am to 12 noon, open til 26 October 2025.

Note: no green garden waste can be accepted outside these operating times. The sites are closely monitored and all fly tippers will be prosecuted. (Don’t forget, report fly tippers and fly-tipped waste.)

What you can and can’t get rid of

You can take garden waste such as grass cuttings, prunings and dead plants to any of the sites for disposal. They will not accept:

  • tree trunks or large branches
  • items such as soil, rubble or garden furniture, including flower pots
  • commercial garden waste

All green garden waste must be bagged. The council have asked people not to used builders’ sacks to bag green waste as they’re too heavy to lift safely.

Take some ID with you when you go

You must take one form of identification which shows your address, such as a council tax bill or driver’s licence.

Green waste collection from your doorstep

If you can’t compost your green waste and you can’t get to the waste disposal sites, you could think about signing up to the garden waste collection scheme. You’ll get a wheelie bin for the waste which is collected every two weeks.
