The council have let us know that Riney will be working under temporary traffic signals at Heathfield Road, Keston for two consecutive days from Monday 10 February. The temporary signals have been restricted to off peak times: 9:30am to 4pm.
In more exciting news, Bromley Council are inviting volunteers to take part in tree planting sessions across the borough. After receiving £175,000 funding from the Forestry Commission’s Local Authority Treescapes Fund, the council wants to establish 5 micro forests.
Councillor Will Rowlands, Executive Councillor for Environment said, “We are nearing the end of our treemendous work to plant 5000 street trees. There is now an exciting opportunity for residents to come together with Friends of Parks groups too and support this latest tree planting initiative which will improve our greenspaces now and for future generations. Please come along with your friends or family, including children, where we will all learn something about the importance of this work and have fun too.”
While we’re lucky to be surrounded by lots of trees in Coney Hall, the rest of the borough could do with your help. So if you fancy joining in, these are the dates and locations.
And don’t forget, you can also join the Friends of Well Wood if you’re looking to get involved with our green spaces even closer to home.
