Residents have contacted us with concerns about the safety of cars parked on Layhams Road. As many of you know, towards the bottom of Coney Hall Park there are double yellow lines on Layhams Road which stop just as the road turns into a corner. On busy days, the number of parked cars here can leave drivers with no visibility of oncoming traffic.
Alexa Michael, Councillor for Hayes and Coney Hall has told us that a traffic order process is nearing completion which will mean additional yellow lines should be installed in the next 6 to 8 weeks. She continued, “With regards to enforcement, the Parking Enforcement team have responded that they currently patrol this section of Layhams Road on an ad hoc basis but will make sure to increase their patrols, especially at weekends.”
In the meantime, should you have any concerns about cars parked dangerously on that section of road, you can log the incident, and the team will quickly respond.
