The council have let us know about the following roadworks:
Hartfield Crescent / Croydon Road
SGN have closed Hartfield Crescent, West Wickham at the junction of Croydon Road while they complete urgent works related to low gas pressures in the area. Temporary signals are in place on Croydon Road during the repair works, which may take up to 2 weeks. Local signed diversions are in place for motorists.
Layhams Road/Corkscrew Hill roundabout
Thames water will be working for up to four days from Thursday 5 December while they repair a water leak at the roundabout at the bottom of Layhams Road and Corkscrew Hill.
Pickhurst Lane
SGN will be working under temporary traffic signals at Pickhurst Lane, West Wickham from Monday 9 December while they install a new gas connection. Signals will be in place for up to a week between the junctions of The Avenue and Wickham Chase, outside property 250 Pickhurst Lane. SGN will manually operate the signals during peak times.
Parking at Bromley South station
If you’re dropping people off or picking people up at Bromley South station, do not park on the road which connects the Waitrose car park to Bromley High Street. There are now automatic number plate recognition cameras in place and fines of £100 are being issued to drivers parking in the area.
The fines are issued by Britannia Parking, who say that “The road is not a designated drop-off area and stopping has been prohibited for several years.” They go on to say that they are issuing fines to ease congestion and improve access for emergency vehicles. Find out more.
